This ragtag bunch from London pushes garage rock, disco, and punk-funk right to the edge of legality. Warmduscher — featuring members with roots in Fat White Family, Paranoid London, and Insecure Men — claims to exist in a near-permanent state of la-la land, where chaos reigns and the starry sky is just one step away from the gutter. On their latest album, ‘Too Cold To Hold’, Warmduscher blends the leather-jacket rock of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion with the dandy disco of Roxy Music and the indie dance vibes of LCD Soundsystem. With help from an unexpected line-up of guests, including Lianne La Havas, Coucou Chloë, and Janet Planet, Warmduscher spits out another greasy glob of dancerock — perfect for slipping and sliding all over the floor. It’s not the first time notable names have joined the party, either: Iggy Pop and Kool Keith have previously lent their talents, and their track Midnight Dipper even got a slick Soulwax makeover. Warmduscher thrives best in the wild: together on stage. With barely controllable synths, pounding basslines, and screeching guitars, they’re the perfect act to kick off Cactusfestival 2025. As long as they don’t have to take off their sunglasses. |
